Surrealist Shoot Evaluation

Post a contact sheet to your blog and a picture of your most successful image with inspirational artist/moodboard images

Evaluate your shoot using the following questions:

·        Explain how you have set up the studio and organised the objects to create an image that is Surrealist in in style. (lighting, background, The uncanny: strange and familiar at the same time? What artists is it inspired by?)  Camera set up: ISO 400 and altered the exposure compensation to get a light background.

·        Compare your image to your inspirational images, how have you adapted it for a modern audience? What mood/meaning were you trying to convey and how does this relate to the Surrealist style/ideas or tactics? Did you encounter any problems during your shoot and how did you overcome them? Did you have to adapt your idea at all, if so how? Or come up with any as you were experimenting?

·       How well do you think your image relates to your research and the Surrealist art movement? How will an audience recognise the movement in your work? What signs or clues have you referenced?  (link directly to specific artworks and name them eg. Man Ray ‘The Gift’)

·       Which is your most successful image/idea and why do you think this?

·         If you were to do your shoot again what would you improve?
